VIN+ Seminyak, Bali reveals the wine group’s first ever Art Space in the heart of Seminyak

Set within the 20 metre-tall bamboo structure of Bali’s largest wine retail store, restaurant and lounge,  the 19th of June saw VIN+ Seminyak, Bali launch its new Art Space – a first for the island and the VIN+ group. Located in a gorgeous mezzanine area overlooking the wine barrel-like architecture, the Art Space is a beautiful gallery open for viewing to the island’s art lovers.

To mark the opening of the new gallery, the Art Space debuted with a stunning exhibit from Californian artist, Yaari Rom– a collection called “Building Bridges”. Having lived in Bali since 2003, Yaari’s work incorporates the magical spirit of the island, with each piece representing the needs and wants of today’s society through the artist’s eye.

In addition to his expressive paintings, Yaari’s art covers many areas including photography, film making and theatre, as well as his “forbidden art” of body painting for which he is most famous. His collectors vary from art dealers and museums, all the way to celebrities, dignitaries and the art-buying public.

For the opening night of the Art Space, Yaari’s signature piece, “Here Comes the Sun”, was on auction to Bali’s most esteemed art and wine enthusiasts to raise money for the Bali Childrens Foundation; an educational pathway provider for disadvantaged Balinese children. The painting is valued at USD7,000 with the auction remaining open until September and the latest bid offered is USD4,500.

Yaari’s work will continue to be on display until early September, after which the gallery will welcome new exhibits from local and international artists.
