Ikra Bali launches a collaborative culinary volunteer series to support Crisis Kitchen Bali with 10 of Bali’s top food luminaries.
Starting this month, the newly opened and iconic Slavic hotspot, Ikra Bali, will open its doors to a palate-teasing culinary journey created by a collective of the top chefs on the island. The exploratory dining initiative will run from 22 August until 30 September and donate all of the post-cost and operation proceeds to Crisis Kitchen, an initiative supporting the growing community of over 12,000 low-income families hit by the pandemic, with 1,200,000 meals already delivered.
Spanning five weeks, this exciting culinary journey will take place every Sunday for lunch from 12pm to 3pm, and every Thursday for dinner from 6pm to 9pm. Each visiting chef will breathe life to an innovative, never-seen-before menu showcasing the best of their representative restaurants but with an Ikra flair. To complete the spectacular offering, there will be a host of special beverages, from crisp and fruity mocktails to the host restaurants’ exclusive repertoire of wines, including homemade wines.
For Sunday lunches, enjoy a variety of dining experiences from family style sharing menus to a more classic set menu specially curated by the likes of Chris Salans of Mozaic, Benjamin Cross of Mason, Damiano Ruggerio of SaMeSa and a sweet tandem menu by Will Goldfarb of Room4Dessert, with Ikra’s very own chef Fernando Trump. To make this journey more memorable, the first Sunday will be kicked off by chef Kim Jonsson, who will entice guests with a sneak peek teaser menu of the soon-to-be-opened restaurant, Kong.
Meanwhile on Thursdays, Ikra Bali is the place to be for satisfying dinners with an enticing line-up of evening culinary sensations. Exquisitely crafted menus and surprise menu immersions await guests for an al fresco experience basking in enchanting fairy lights under the bountiful harvest of local grapevines, or indoors in an intimate setting with plush interiors and meticulous hand-drawn paintings. As the sun sets, culinary greats such as Jethro Vincent, Kieran Morland of Sangsaka, Jeremy Hunt of KuDeTa, Mirya Purnama of Milano and Ray Adriansyah of Locavore will delight the palate with their creations.
The proceeds from the events will support Crisis Kitchen Bali and its various food relief and security programs, including its recent Kebun Kita project – a 360-degree garden approach where food is grown to empower, connect, reset, adapt, grow and help.
