Manic Street Preachers: Resistance is Futile

Release Date: 6th April 2018

Recorded at their new Door To The River Studios near Newport, Wales, Resistance Is Futile is the Manics 13th album and has been described by the band as widescreen melancholia. The follow-up to the acclaimed companion albums of Rewind The Film and the eclectic Futurology, the themes are memory and loss; forgotten history; confused reality and art as a hiding place and inspiration. At the release press conference the band described it as obsessively melodic – in many ways referencing both the naive energy of their debut album Generation Terrorists (1992) and the orchestral sweep of Everything Must Go (1996).
