Royal Tulip Visesa Ubud

The eagerly awaited Royal Tulip Visesa Ubud opened its charming Balinese doors recently and is now welcoming guests who value the highest standards of hospitality but also have a deep respect for the culture and tradition of their Balinese hosts. Visesa Ubud is a beautiful, culturally inspired resort set on 6.5 hectares of prime iconic Balinese rural landscape owned by the Ubud royal family, featuring working rice fields, palm trees, temples and shrines, along with an active local community. The opening also sees the launch of the resort’s exciting initiative – Desa Visesa. Desa Visesa is a concept created by the resort to allow guests to experience and enjoy an array of cultural, wellness and farming experiences based on Bali’s rich traditional heritage and ceremonial way of life. Actively supporting the younger generation and the marginalised within the local community, Desa Visesa aims to promote and sustain all that is unique and precious about the local way of life. In Balinese terms, it will nurture the relationship between man, nature and God, in accordance with the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, for both visitors and the local community.

There are five accommodation categories at the resort and, as one would expect, they have been carefully designed and positioned to recreate the balance seen in a traditional Balinese village. The collection of 66 pool villas and 40 suites are scattered across the resort and connected by a series of natural winding pathways. The whole resort is low level and utilises local building materials, including hardwoods and paras stone to ensure it is in tune with its local environment. The suites are located in a three-storey building featuring delightful and far-reaching rice field and forest views. With a bathtub and separate shower, high speed Wi-Fi, 40-inch LED HD smart TV and iPod dock, the suites are large and can sleep up to three adults. The two-bedroom villas with butler service are the largest of the properties and offer excellent accommodation for four adults. Elegant and spacious, these family-friendly villas benefit from a good-sized private pool and pavilion, plus a private meditation deck and private outdoor bathtub. With first-class facilities throughout, including a gourmet bar, luxury linens and separate bathrooms, this is a fantastic option for families or friends.

Whilst being an idyllic resort for relaxation and to experience Balinese life, Visesa is only 2 kilometres north of the centre of Ubud, making it a great location for those wishing to explore the renowned village, its dining, art, markets and, of course, its celebrated culture.
