Savouring The Taste of Indonesia

For a month, Nusantara by Locavore is taking up residency at The Westin Ubud.

Renowned for creating contemporary Indonesian dishes with a twist, Nusantara by Locavore is taking it to new heights for one month only with a change of scenery, from the bustle of central Ubud to the quieter side at The Westin Ubud.

For the whole of October, from Thursdays to Saturdays only, Nusantara by Locavore is taking over the kitchen at Tall Trees Restaurant to present its special theme, Taste The Forgotten Craft. Diners will go on a culinary journey with authentic cuisines from every corner of Indonesia crafted by chef Putu and his team, who are keen to present lesser-known recipes created with ancient wood-fired cooking techniques.

On the menu, are local delights such as gohu ikan from Maluku, cumi hitam from Central Java, udang asap from East Kalimantan, timbungan ikan and bebek tanah from Bali, and much more. The diversity of the dishes on offer also extends to the sambal. This spicy sauce is a must in all Indonesian cuisine, and the chef has prepared three sambals from Aceh, Lombok and North Sumatera.

Taste The Forgotten Craft is available from 6pm with both à la carte and set menu choices available. Don’t forget to try the Indonesian ingredient-inspired cocktails to complete the whole journey.
