The Legacy of Ramadan at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan

Share this special time with your loved ones with culinary delights from Java, Sunda and Manado.

Aside from fasting from dawn to dusk, Ramadan is all about sharing happiness so to celebrate the holiest month for Muslims, The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan is showcasing three Ramadan family recipes from three regions in Indonesia for your dining pleasure.

Asia Restaurant is serving daily Iftar that highlights three authentic cuisines from Sunda, Java and Manado, with each region represented by a local chef; chef Utoyo Kusriyanto from West Java, chef Rory Randy Paulus from Manado, and chef Suharyatno from Central Java. These three chefs are creating dishes inspired by, or using recipes that have been passed down by, family. For example, chef Utoyo is making Nasi Liwet Cianjur, Empal Gepuk, Ayam Goreng Lengkuas and more using recipes inherited from his great-grandmother.

In addition to the beautiful spreads at the restaurant, guests looking to enjoy this food at home can also order the hotel’s Besek boxes. Available in three different types, choose the one that will suit your palate the best with choices of Javanese, Manadonese and Sundanese.

Complete your Ramadan experience with stylish hampers from The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan. Curated exclusively for this special occasion, there are three hampers on offer filled with scrumptious baked goods, such as cookies, nastar dates, rum balls, jams and layered Lapis Legit cake.
