Unveiling its finest brew yet, The Macallan presents a new annual limited edition expression: The Macallan Edition No.1, which is drawn from eight European and American oak cask styles selected by the brand’s Master Whisky Maker. During the launch held by Edrington (the owning group) on 15th April 2016 in Jakarta, brand advocate Randall Tan joined Indonesian celebrities like Mike Lewis and Marissa Nasution at The Cloud Lounge & Dining for the celebration. With only 1,000 bottles nationwide and exclusively available in selected restaurants, bars and lounges around Jakarta, The Macallan defines its unique art of whisky making through an unusual spectrum of selected casks for Edition No. 1 by the master himself. From the provenance of the oak to the expert crafting of the cask, the seasoning and the size, these intricate components play an immense role that ultimately shape the final whisky. Whisky lovers can lavish in the taste of nettles under an oak canopy. The Macallan Edition No.1 exudes a fuller, richer flavour with a natural colour of honey, empowering a nose lead of orange, dried fruit and apple, sitting within a unique Macallan orchard, filled with vibrancy and richness.
