CELEBRATE LIFE’S MOST MEMORABLE OCCASIONS at PELANGI ESTATE

Nestled within one of Bali’s most spectacular riverside properties, Pelangi Estate offers friends and family travelling together a luxuriously appointed holiday retreat in which to celebrate special occasions any time of year.

Built upon acres of undulating terraced tropical gardens, just 10-minutes outside of Ubud’s city centre, Pelangi Estate fulfils every fantasy you’ve ever had about getting to know the real Bali. Completed in 2011, Pelangi Estate boasts seven bedrooms across three private residences, which can accommodate up to 21 guests comfortably. Offering exclusive privacy and tranquillity, invite the ones closest to you to celebrate special moments in lavish style, as two stunning swimming pools and an expertly trained staff caters to your every whim. Why not plan the wedding of your dreams or your mum and dad’s anniversary overlooking Pelangi’s breath-taking river valley, an event that promises to create timeless memories for decades to come.

Villa Pelangi is the main residence, a four-storey home with stunning views of the rice paddies beyond and four generous bedrooms spread throughout 800-square-metres of impeccably designed interiors. The master suite is a private and opulent retreat with a spacious office that doubles as a yoga studio for up to 16 people. The owner chose magnificent hues of sky and azure blue for this space, representing the throat chakra in a spiritual reflection of one’s ability to express truth through the power of the spoken word. Elegant French doors lead out to a wrap-around deck with a large waterfall-fed pool and a stylish garden en-suite surrounded by a koi pond.

On the lower floor located next to the river gorge, a space that is intimately connected to Mother Earth, two en-suite guest bedrooms offer calming views to the river and sprawling green lawns. Personalised touches include queen canopy beds, feather and foam pillows and a lounge area with writing desk and plantation chair. Painted in serene shades of mango and papaya, orange represents the sacral chakra, encouraging the utilisation of creative forces into all aspects of our being.

Relax in paradise as all of your meals are prepared by a lovingly and professionally trained culinary team, served in the dining venue of your choice whether it be in the formal dining room of the main home or in the outdoor rotunda that overlooks one of the most mesmerising views in Ubud. Support that New Year’s resolution to live a healthier lifestyle with freshly squeezed juices, a variety of enticing international and traditional cuisine options, healthy specialities that include organic salads, mouth watering appetisers and perfectly prepared Western classics. Spend your days enjoying priceless moments together; cool morning dips in the calm river below, sunset meditations, and celebratory champagne toasts to the full moon to help create timeless souvenirs. Conveniently located adjacent to the best cultural events on the island, ask the staff to book a dramatic dance performance at the Ubud Palace or indulge in a batik or painting class with one of the local masters.

For smaller groups, choose the Villa Java Guest House & Studio or Bhutan Cottage, available to be leased separately. With a private entrance through a handcrafted stone archway, the traditionally built Java houses are designed around a delightful joglo structure – the distinctive style of Javanese homes normally reserved for nobles. Surrounded by stunning river valley views, upstairs you’ll find ornately carved hardwoods from top to bottom, complemented by two air-conditioned sleeping suites and a comfortable living area with flat screen television.

Exquisitely detailed with Southeast Asian antiques, the perfectly positioned skylights create a freshly lit ambience. Through yet another private entrance marked by hand carved Balinese doors, the downstairs studio is a cool mélange of soft green and yellow hues. With a king size bed as well as a twin, charming kitchen and ample seating for living and dining, the generous patio features a lovely wooden trellis overflowing with passion fruit. The garden bathroom features two showerheads – one traditional stone, the other contemporary stainless – and cleverly carved images peeking out at you from the surrounding stone walls.

Bhutan Cottage is the honeymoon suite, aptly decorated with authentic Bhutanese prayer flags and cheerful, traditional fabrics. Featuring the most stunning views on the property, there’s no better place to enjoy a steaming cup of Balinese coffee than the outdoor veranda in the cool morning air. With a romantic, king size Chinese opium bed, thoughtfully hand picked antique furnishings and a generous garden en suite featuring hardwood flooring and deluxe rain shower with breath-taking views, you might just end up staying awhile.
