Giving Back To Bali

Proving once again that people who love Bali give back, on 22nd July, The Bali Ball 2017 raised its highest amount ever with a stunning IDR 1.25 billion, just shy of USD 100,000, through ticket sales, raffle prizes and an auction of 10 amazing prizes.

As always, 100 percent of the money raised was donated to children’s charities Bali Kids, Bali Children Foundation and Yayasan Samaritania, as well as three newcomers involved in health and environmental care, Bali Medika, Bali Peduli and Adopt a River Bali.

The spectacular event, attended by 160 guests, was organised by founder Luke Stockley of Jemme and co-hosted by Alila Seminyak, opening with a champagne reception, fireworks over Seminyak Beach, a shadow dance by Ayu Laksmi and a rendition of Indonesia Raya by children from Bali Kids and Bali Children Foundation.

Bearing the theme #LoveBaliGiveBack, the  evening broke another record with all 2,000 raffle tickets and 200 Diamond Draw tickets sold out online and on the evening, with winners comprising both those at the event and loyal supporters from across the world who had bought tickets even though they couldn’t be in Bali on that evening.

The gala five-course wine-paired dinner was ushered to a close with a performance from Indonesia’s diva Ruth Sahanaya, after which DJ Halim spun the decks for the after party with guests dancing the night away.
