Welcoming W Bali – Seminyak’s newly appointed director of beverage & food, Philipp Haupenthal, to the Island of the Gods.
W Bali – Seminyak is proud to announce the recent appointment of Philipp Haupenthal as Director of Beverage & Food. With 12 years of experience under his belt, Philipp is responsible for overseeing the operation of the hotel’s award-winning dining outlets, including Starfish Bloo, FIRE, Woobar and W Lounge.
German-born Philipp, who enjoys outdoor activities in his free time, has worked at many prestigious properties in Germany and around Asia. He started his career working at Mercure Hotel Saarbruecken City before moving on to Le Royal Meridien in Hamburg and Dorint Hotel an Heumarkt. In 2013, he got the opportunity to move to a warmer climate and took up the position of manager restaurants and bars at Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort.
Prior to dipping his toes into the golden sands of Seminyak, Philipp held the position of director of beverage & food at W Koh Samui, Thailand, where he created the hotel’s own music event Backstage Festival.
Ready to re-create the same W passion, besides managing all day-to-day operations, Philipp is in control of ensuring exceptional customer service as well as understanding the brand’s service culture.
