Blooming Sakura

Japanese cuisine enthusiasts should visit Nusa Dua for at least a quick stop at Sakura Japanese Restaurant. Charmingly nestled within the lush tropical, beachfront complex that is Meliá Bali, the restaurant has recently introduced its new look and culinary offerings. The authentic Japanese cuisine remains intact, with a refreshing ambience inspired by the Tokyo fish market, and some enticing new dishes on the menu.

Sakura Japanese Restaurant offers a variety of seating in its intimate premises. To really bask in Bali’s balmy evening, the outdoor seating is an alluring choice. Indoors, you can sit at the teppanyaki counter for a thrilling show to go with your food, the sushi bar, or the tatami room where you have more privacy with your group of friends or family.

The menu is compact and curated with all-time Japanese favourites, such as spicy edamame and yaki gyoza. For a true testament to fresh seafood, start with the salmon sashimi new style, a refreshing carpaccio fix. The spicy rock prawn tempura is also a lush choice served on lettuce salad with spicy mayo.

SAKURA’S SIGNATURE DISHES

An ultimate showstopper, the sushi and sashimi are a sure-fire choice, with premium fresh fish served on a dramatic stair-like stand. Having said that, we have not even reached the main courses. Serving a variety of delicious proteins, choose from the chicken teriyaki, black cod misozuke, Angus beef tenderloin, or opt for the robatayaki combination.

The delicacies do not stop there, as Sakura’s dessert array is too divine to pass up. The regulars’ favourites are the zesty yuzu mousse with chocolate cake chunks, ganache, meringue, and yuzu shaved ice; and the matcha and strawberry tart with shortbread dough.
