COMO Making a Difference Again

Off the enchanting shore of Canggu, Bali, COMO Uma Canggu is preparing to impress with the upcoming COMO Journey. Taking place from 25 to 28 October 2023, the extraordinary event invites guests to an immersive experience dedicated to celebrating the beauty and significance of the ocean, in an effort to encourage its conservation.

Known worldwide for his exceptional photography background, Matt Porteous and his artistic genius will be in attendance to showcase his environmental advocacy and his charity, Ocean Culture Life, dedicated to giving a voice to treasured but undervalued resources. An important figure in the community, Matt looks to bridge the gap between science and communication through storytelling and education. He had the following to say about his cause;

“Our oceans are the heartbeats of our planet, and it’s our responsibility to protect them. Through the power of photography and storytelling, we can ignite a collective passion for ocean conservation.”A series of impactful engagements are expected to inspire, such as the VIP Exhibition, Storytelling Workshop & Excursion and Junior Ocean Advocates.

On the event’s Wednesday, Matt Porteous takes guests on a journey through his photography of the ocean’s exquisite artistry and vulnerability. Combined with tales of the sea, with a special emphasis on Indonesia’s dedicated ocean guardians, the VIP Exhibition will provide an eye-opening experience for all.

The following day, on Thursday, an underwater storytelling journey awaits, as Matt showcases ocean narratives over dinner before joining the group on a one-of-a-kind excursion to Nusa Penida. The renowned photographer will allow any and all to pick his brain on unique underwater photography techniques.

Finally, on Saturday, 28 October, the young ocean advocates will get the chance to appreciate life under the surface. A Build a Reef will be available using recycled materials, as well as another excursion into the sea for an engaging session. To top it all off, a special dinner will finish the event off strong with prices starting at IDR620,000++ per person.
