Accomplished actress Elvina Devinamira shares the fascinating narrative of her transition from the pageant spotlight to the enchanting world of film. Delving into her experiences, she reflects on memorable moments and challenges faced, offering valuable advice for aspiring individuals.

Q: What came first, the pageantry or film industry?
A: Initially, in 2014, I participated in the Puteri Indonesia pageant and won. Then I got to represent Indonesia in the Miss Universe pageant, where I was selected as one of the top 15 and I also won the best national costume. From there, I started my journey into the film industry. My first film was Single in 2015 where I starred alongside Raditya Dika. I also appeared in a TV show called Keluarga Besar, the film Dilarang Menyanyi di Kamar Mandi in 2018, the season two of TV show Bestie in 2023 and the film Suami Yang Lain in 2024.

Q: Throughout your career, what has been the most memorable moment?
A: Competing in Miss Universe stands out to me as the most memorable moment. It was a valuable experience representing Indonesia on the international stage, and the friendships formed with other Miss Universe finalists have endured. Even now, the bond between us is strong, making every journey around the world feel accompanied by friends.

Q: What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your career, and how did you overcome it?
A: The challenge has been dealing with people who don’t like to see others succeed and try to bring me down. I’ve learned to be strong and believe in myself, even if the world is against me.

Q: Are there any future projects of yours that you can share with our readers?
A: Last year, I filmed a British movie with an all-British cast. I am the only one from Indonesia, and it should be released this year.

Q: According to you, what does success mean?
A: Success is when we can thrive in any situation.

Q: What is your advice for maintaining a healthy and balanced life?
A: For me, mental health and wellbeing are the most important. I’ve learned not to be too hard on myself and focus on self-reward and self-love. Balance is crucial – work when it’s time to work, but once all responsibilities are taken care of, it’s time to treat ourselves. Doing something we enjoy, like travelling, is an example of self-reward. Of course, taking care of our bodies is essential. I start my day with celery juice on an empty stomach and drink three litres of infused water every day.

Q: As a public figure, how do you use your influence to bring a positive impact to your fans?
A: I always support women’s empowerment, especially in this modern era where women have ambitions, careers and the ability to make their own life choices.

Q: What advice would you give to the younger generation aspiring to enter the entertainment or pageant industry?
A: My advice is to stay true to yourself and be authentic.
