Set within a sophisticated, brasserie environment, Lyon is a French restaurant located at the Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta. Serving traditional French dishes prepared with the best ingredients, this restaurant delivers the very best of French cuisine in a relaxed, elegant setting.
For private parties, Lyon has two unique private dining rooms, which can accommodate up to 14 guests. The Glass Room is uniquely located between two glass-walled wine cellars and complemented by a large floor-to-ceiling glass window overlooking the lobby area. Plush in maroon hues, a long wooden table and classy chandelier gives this private dining room, which can accommodate up to ten guests, a majestic air.
Lyon’s Executive Chef Thierry Le Queau is a native of Brittany, and has been surrounded by fine food his entire life. Apart from his mentor Andre Doll, his family played an important role in making him the distinguished chef that he is today. Thierry’s farming background gave him an appreciation of the quality of fresh ingredients, and being the grandson of a cook instilled in him the desire to become a chef. Known for his work ethic and passion for food, Thierry obtained a Fishmonger Diploma, Cap Poissonier/Ecaillier/Traiteur before beginning his apprenticeship at Le Jardin de la Tulipe, in Brittany. Additional career highlights include prestigious positions in the Caribbean, United States and Middle East.
Thierry aims to deliver good, honest food using various cooking techniques and using the best produce available in order to create a memorable dining experience. Apart from the making of high quality food, Thierry believes that understanding each ingredient and showing respect for the food produces results in distinctive yet innovative creations. Bon apetit!
