THE Beginning of a Prosperous New Year

Chinese New Year is a time rich with diverse traditions and unique customs dating back hundreds of years. The Mulia, Mulia Resort & Villas – Nusa Dua, Bali welcomed the Year of the Monkey with an auspicious Yee Sang tossing at the property’s own signature Chinese restaurant: Table8. A beautiful arrangement of colourful shredded vegetables and other ingredients were presented. Guests gathered around the gorgeous display as Table8’s Chinese chef explained that each ingredient has a unique role in cultivating wealth, prosperity and other favourable signs for the year to come. For example, raw salmon is meant to bring abundance, shredded green radish brings eternal youth and pepper attracts wealth and treasures. After reciting ceremonial verses, guests took up their chopsticks and worked together to toss and blend each of the components, creating luck, prosperity and a tasty dish to enjoy together. www.themulia.com/bali
