The Power of Fashion

This season’s hottest luxury items for women are all about empowerment and passion

Made of Magic

The latest creation from the legendary French jewellery house, Amulette de Cartier is a charmed piece of jewellery in a most seductive form. A bejewelled capsule of mother-of-pearl, onyx or diamond paving, it mesmerises with its openwork back and a host of hidden talents. At first glance it is a target, a disc of onyx. but look closer and it becomes much more – a cluster of surprises, among them the arc of solid gold that opens like a padlock, leaving room for a wish and the option of attaching the piece to one’s person.

Two Days Trendy

The iconic 2Jours family of bags from Fendi are characterised by a sense of opulent modernism, embodying the essence of Fendi’s spirit: the appreciation of rules and the willingness to bend them. The defining features of the 2Jours tote bag, which comes in two sizes, are short handles featuring a small logo. A sharp line of enamelled metal running along the top edge of the bag draws its linear shape.  For the Spring Summer 2014 collection, Fendi has launched new models of bags, welcoming the Petite 2Jours, the 3Jours and the DemiJours into the family. The Fendi Petite 2Jours, is a tiny version of the iconic original, meant to be worn with a long strap, perfect for casual and elegant looks. The 3Jours tote bag is bigger, a weekend version of the 2Jours, while the DemiJours is a small, compact bag that manages to be functional and sporty at the same time. The materials and workmanship of the 2Jours Family enhance the geometric design of the bags while its juxtapositions and contrasts distinguish it. Structural simplicity serves as a backdrop for rich, extravagant materials such as galuchat, crocodile, python, fox and pony skin mix, as well as capitonné patent leather, felt, leather and backgammon velvet.

Fabulous Ornamentation

The new Métiers d’Arts Fabuleux Ornements collection from Vacheron Constantin celebrates the decorative arts of several cultures. Inspired by dreams of faraway places and by the open-minded approach to the world consistently cultivated by Vacheron Constantin, it features four ladies’ models born of the art of openworking and a combination of artistic crafts. Ten different master artisans have taken turns in providing talented reinterpretations of Ottoman architecture, Chinese embroidery, Indian manuscripts and French lacework. These exquisitely feminine creations are equipped with an ethereal hand-engraved calibre echoing the precious dial ornamentation and enshrining a subtle blend of inner and outer beauty.

Admiring for a Good Cause

Rebecca de Alba, one of Mexico’s most beloved actresses, is the new ambassador of Corum Admiral’s Cup Legend 38. Combining altruism and elegance, this big-hearted artist was chosen by Corum to carry the colours of the brand throughout Latin America. Corum and Rebecca worked together to create the design for the limited edition Admiral’s Cup Legend 38. The watch is dressed in a precious mother-of-pearl dial. It is adorned with nine hour-markers set with diamonds totalling approximately 0.10 carats, along with the numbers 30 and 60 appearing as appliqués at 6 and 12 o’clock respectively. This limited edition has a mechanical movement with automatic winding – calibre CO082 – equipped with a power reserve of 42 hours and offering the hours, minutes and date. The three small stars positioned at the 3 o’clock of the dial are the symbol of the Rebecca de Alba Foundation, while the case back is marked and signed by De Alba and features the foundation’s logo. Sales of the watch will support the Rebecca de Alba Foundation, created in 2008 in order to help youth and children suffering from cancer.
