Zuma

VARIETY IS THE SPICE OF LIFE

One of Bangkok’s newcomers to the city’s dazzling culinary scene, zuma enjoys a prestigious location within the hallowed walls of the St. Regis. The most recent addition to the brand’s growing global presence – with sister restaurants in London, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Dubai and Miami – zuma Bangkok offers foodies an alternative to the city’s famed Thai cuisine. Created around the traditional Izakaya style of eating and drinking, zuma delivers an elegant, yet fun and informal dining experience.

As appealing to the eyes as to the palate, kudos go to Japanese designer Noriyoushi Muramatsu of Studio Glitt Tokyo. Reminiscent of a Japanese garden with a natural stone open kitchen, the semi open-air terrace is nestled amongst the verdant garden, affording guests the luxury to experience a bit of nature with the parallel comfort of air-conditioning.

Izakaya style means there’s no set protocol on ordering from the menu; dishes are to be enjoyed individually or shared amongst friends at the table. With zuma’s comprehensive menu, an exciting array of dishes is offered from the robata grill, sushi counter and main kitchen. The new ‘it’ place for casual power lunches, inventive set menus satisfy the taste buds without inducing a post-lunch cat nap. Chef’s favorite includes the Australian beef sirloin with wafu sauce and crispy garlic.
