ANAKHA LIFESTYLE

Recently opened in the Blue House, a restored colonial mansion built in the late 1920s, Véronique Cottereau-Pravin’s ‘Anakha’ home & apparel lifestyle boutique is the place to go for a little retail therapy in Luang Prabang. Located in an ideal spot along the town’s main street in the charming former royal capital of Laos, her concept fuses quintessential French taste with elegant Laotian textiles. Anakha is inspired by Véronique’s love of hand-made textiles, nurtured while living in Vietnam for many years.

Not a novice to the luxury goods business, Véronique traded a career as an international business lawyer for the design world when she opened her first boutique west of Paris, in the trendy village of Le Vésinet. Anakha’s concept is the very first of its kind; offering unique linens and home accessories utilizing hand-selected and naturally woven Laotian fabrics inspired by chic French design.

Linen, silk and cotton are combined to create modern hues and textures, all chemical free. Produced in limited quantities due to the extensive time needed to create many of the fabrics, each item is exclusive and carries a spirit of its own.  Once you find your way through the welcoming front verandah, prepare to fall in love with an assortment of Véronique’s designs that include duvets, table linens, beach bags, scarves and tartan rugs.
