Q: How did you get into the world of photography? Has it been your passion?

A: This is a hobby that turned into a professional career. I started photography during my college days in Surabaya and continued when I moved to Jakarta. Initially, I was involved in make-up, hairdo and styling, but now I’m more focused on photography. It began with taking photos of friends and eventually led to working with celebrities.

Q: What genre of photography do you like?

A: Commercial fashion and lifestyle.

Q: Where do you usually find inspiration for photography?

A: From Pinterest, social media and fashion magazines. I enjoy brainstorming concepts overnight before a photoshoot.

Q: According to you, what qualities should a photographer possess?

A: It’s not just about the quality of photos and creativity, but social skills and networking are crucial as well, so that your name and work become known to many people.

Q: What’s the most memorable moment throughout your career as a photographer?

A: A particularly memorable moment was when a client took me around the country to capture their activities and lifestyle. Being able to meet and collaborate with celebrities whom I had only seen on television before, and now working alongside them as friends, is a truly remarkable experience. Another significant moment was when one of my works was featured on the New York’s Times Square billboard, showcasing Mawar Eva de Jongh in collaboration with Spotify.

Q: What advice would you give those who want to get into photography?

A: Keep creating and learning wherever and whenever you can. Don’t give up easily and maintain good connections. Failure and mistakes don’t weaken us; they serve as benchmarks for improvement and for upgrading skills and creativity.

Q: Do you have any upcoming projects that you can share with us?

A: I just showcased my work on 17 August 2023, during Indonesia’s Independence Day with Angela Panari and Hanna Saraswati, featuring the theme of Indonesian culture.
