Designing Hotels with

                  Ibal Designs

What do you get when you cross a former UK fashion editor and Hong Kong-based art consultant? One of the hottest family-run furniture supply companies in Asia today specializing in five-star hotels and resorts. With over 70 luxury hotels under their belt from the Maldives to Phuket to Dubai, British operated Ibal Designs is based in Bali, with a sampling factory and showroom not too far from the family’s compound in Seminyak. Company owners, Charles and Luli Orchard, have a long-running love affair with Indonesia and chose the island of Java to house their custom manufacturing factory comprised of over 400 artisan workers. Their love affair with Indonesia runs deep, as the Orchard’s camping factory and showroom are in Bali while their manufacturing headquarters is on Java. Offering classic to cutting edge design, Ibal’s style can be found all over the world including Bali’s Four Seasons Jimbaran, Kempinski Bale Lazar in the Seychelles, Park Hyatt Hadahaa Resort in the Maldives and the Alila Diwa Resort in Goa. Never one to be a step behind the competition, Ibal sources from plantation-grown hardwoods and handcrafts coconut and shell finishes. Current projects in the works include the St. Regis Hotel in Mauritius, Naumi Saff Hotel in Singapore and Regent Phuket Cape Panwa in Thailand.
