An Arctic journey presented by COMO Hotels and Resorts will take guests around in the M/S Polarfront to explore the natural polar landscape.
Following the success of its 2025 debut, COMO Hotels and Resorts has confirmed the return of COMO Journey: Into the Arctic, offering two new expeditions to the Svalbard Archipelago in May and September 2026. Operated in partnership with Natural World Safaris, the journey gives travellers the rare chance to explore one of the world’s most remote and wildlife-rich environments aboard the eight-suite M/S Polarfront.
Originally a Norwegian weather ship, the M/S Polarfront has been refitted as a boutique expedition vessel designed for just 12 guests. With light-filled suites, en-suite bathrooms, a sauna, and hot tub, it combines comfort and warmth with the stark beauty of the Arctic. Each voyage integrates COMO’s signature touchpoints namely COMO Shambhala wellness, balanced COMO Cuisine and attentive service with the raw drama of polar landscapes.
The May itinerary, titled The Arctic Awakens running from 13–23 May 2026, coincides with the season of midnight sun, offering a view of the Arctic at its most pristine. Guests may encounter polar bears on the ice, walruses hauled out on floes, and vast seabird colonies beginning their nesting season.
The September voyage, The Arctic’s Final Glow running from 13–24 September 2026, takes place as the landscape shifts into autumn. The receding ice opens up new routes and travellers may also witness the Northern Lights as darkness approaches.
Highlights include Zodiac safaris through fjords, guided landings, wildlife encounters, and expert-led talks on Arctic ecology and photography. Wellness sessions and curated menus further enhance the experience.
Prices for the 10-night May 2026 expedition begin at £23,000 per person for single occupancy, or £39,000 based on two sharing a Polarfront Suite, inclusive of a pre-expedition night in Longyearbyen.
