This Halloween, Gran Meliá Jakarta transformed imagination into celebration with a weekend of creative workshops. The hotel captured the festive spirit with artistic flair, offering guests of all ages an opportunity to create and connect in an atmosphere that balanced playfulness with elegance.
On 25 October, creativity took centre stage at the Lobby Lounge with two engaging art activities. The morning began with a tote bag painting session in collaboration with Butterfly, a stationery brand known for inspiring young artists. Seventeen children aged five to twelve, dressed in festive costumes, turned blank canvas bags into vibrant works of art filled with colour and imagination.
As the day continued, the mood shifted for the afternoon acrylic painting class inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night. With gentle guidance from an instructor and light refreshments to accompany, twelve participants enjoyed a calm and expressive afternoon of artistic discovery.
Moving forward, the season’s highlight then arrived in liquid form. The Black Widow, an exclusive cocktail crafted by the hotel’s mixology team, made its debut with striking character. A bold blend of black sesame sous-vide vodka, lychee liqueur and Martini Blanco High Proof was complemented by a touch of mung bean shrub for depth. A few drops of squid ink gave the drink its signature jet-black hue, symbolising mystery and allure. Priced at IDR165,000++ per glass, it was available throughout October at Lobby Lounge, Café Gran Via, Tien Chao, Yoshi Izakaya and Chillin’ Pool Bar, adding a refined twist to the spooky season.
From cocktail glass to paintbrush, Gran Meliá Jakarta’s Halloween celebration proved that art and togetherness can transform a seasonal festivity into a shared experience to remember.
