Seasoned hotelier Benjamin Paetz is appointed the new operations manager for the five-star hotel.
Award-winning luxury hotel InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah recently announced the appointment of food and beverage specialist Benjamin Paetz as the new operations manager for the hotel. Joining the hotel’s all-star team of hospitality experts, Benjamin hails from Hamburg, Germany, where he first honed his F&B skills before trotting the globe.
His endeavour in the gourmet food and fine wines scene takes him to new places, including a vineyard in Waiheke Island, New Zealand. ““I have always been working in the F&B industry,” said Benjamin. “My years in Bangkok taught me the most about how to provide the best products and services in the culinary industry. It was the most important assignment in my career.”
Benjamin spent two years in New Zealand before making the move to Asia. His encounter with Indonesia started in Jakarta in 2020. He made a quick stop in the Maldives, before going back to Indonesia’s capital city once again. “I like Jakarta a lot because the F&B scene is colourful and developing rapidly,” mused Benjamin.
As the operations manager for InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah, Benjamin is responsible in heading the day-to-day operations of the hotel’s F&B department, as well as levelling up the hotel’s already impressive F&B experiences, including its luxury wedding and banquet products and services.
The hotel is famed for its premium lunch and dinner buffets and bountiful Sunday brunches. The Sugar & Spice restaurant will also see upgrades on its themed nights, such as Wagyu Dinner on Thursdays, Seafood Night on Fridays, South American BBQ on Saturdays, and of course, the brunch on Sundays. The restaurant will unveil an exclusive private dining room soon.
