Held from 7-10 August 2025 at the newly inaugurated AGORA Exhibition Hall in Central Jakarta, ArtMoments Jakarta 2025 concluded successfully, drawing widespread public interest and significant attention from the art community. Centred around the theme Restoration, the fair delved into the vital concepts of collective healing, reflection and renewal through the lens of contemporary art in today’s multifaceted global landscape.
Co-Founder and Fair Director Sendy Widjaja elaborated on the choice of theme, emphasising its reflective nature for all visitors engaging with the art on display. “After years of global uncertainty and cultural upheaval, 2025 feels like a powerful moment to pause, reflect and restore. Restoration is not just a theme, but a journey that is fragile, fluid and deeply personal,” he added.
The event benefited from strong curatorial direction under Artistic Director Sudjud Dartanto. Over four vibrant days, more than 60 local and international exhibitors showcased works from over 100 artists, representing a diverse range of mediums, including painting, installation, digital art, performance and new media.
Among the standout features were immersive exhibitions and site-specific installations, which were complemented by interdisciplinary talks and interactive programmes. The Young Collectors Programme also brought a refreshing energy to the fair, highlighted by the vibrant presence of a younger audience. Additionally, a special exhibition titled “NUDE,” curated by Natasha Doroshenko Murray, sparked open conversations about sex, gender and eroticism within Indonesian art.
One key moment of the fair was a dedicated tribute to Indonesian modern masters Sudjana Kerton, Ahmad Sadali, S. Sudjojono and Fadjar Sidik to celebrate their legacy ahead of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day.
