Carlton Hotel Singapore has announced the appointment of Niall Cowan as its new General Manager, marking a new chapter for the iconic hotel. With over 20 years of international experience in luxury hospitality across Asia, Africa, and Europe, Cowan brings extensive expertise in hotel operations, brand strategy and guest experience.
He joins the flagship property after a successful tenure at Carlton City Hotel Singapore, where he guided the team through post-pandemic recovery, launched new dining concepts and secured sustainability certification. In his new role, Cowan will oversee 940 guestrooms, renowned dining venues such as Wah Lok Cantonese Restaurant and Café Mosaic, as well as the hotel’s extensive meetings and events facilities.
Throughout his career, Cowan has held leadership positions at prestigious establishments including The Savoy and The Berkeley in London, Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club and Fairmont Sanur Beach Bali. Known for his collaborative and forward-thinking leadership, he consistently focuses on delivering meaningful guest experiences, driving innovation in food and beverage and implementing sustainable practices across operations.
Beyond his professional role, Cowan is also deeply committed to environmental and social causes. He actively participates in marine conservation initiatives in the Maldives, contributing to shark research and marine biodiversity protection. His passion for sustainability and community engagement aligns closely with Carlton Hotel Singapore’s values and long-term vision.
