Avenzel Hotel & Convention partners with Kriya Kara batik artisans to honour Indonesia’s National Batik Day through an interactive exhibition and hands-on cultural experience in its hotel lobby.
In celebration of Indonesia’s National Batik Day on 2 October, Avenzel Hotel & Convention reaffirmed its commitment to preserving local culture through a collaboration with the Kriya Kara batik artisan community. From 29 September to 4 October 2025, the hotel’s lobby transformed into a vibrant cultural space featuring a batik exhibition and complimentary batik-making sessions open to both guests and the public.
The initiative invited visitors to explore a wide range of intricate batik designs, meet the artisans behind them and experience the traditional canting process firsthand. The event served not only as a cultural showcase but also as a meaningful effort to support small local enterprises and preserve Indonesia’s rich artistic heritage.
By bringing artisans directly to the hotel, Avenzel Hotel & Convention aimed to bridge the gap between tradition and modern hospitality, offering both domestic and international guests a genuine encounter with Indonesian craftsmanship.
