To mark World Sleep Day on 13 March 2026, COMO Metropolitan Singapore becomes the first hotel in Asia to install SleepHub® in every guest room and suite, bringing neuroscience-backed sleep technology into the centre of the city.
Rest is often the first casualty of modern travel. Long flights, shifting time zones, and the persistent rhythm of urban life can make a good night’s sleep feel elusive, even in the most comfortable surroundings. At COMO Metropolitan Singapore, however, the pursuit of better rest has now become a central part of the guest experience.
Coinciding with World Sleep Day on 13 March 2026, the hotel has equipped all 156 guest rooms and suites with SleepHub®. Developed by Cambridge Sleep Sciences in the United Kingdom, the technology is designed to support deeper, more restorative sleep using principles grounded in neuroscience. With this move, COMO Metropolitan Singapore becomes the first and currently the only property in Asia to introduce the system hotel-wide.
The initiative reflects a wider shift in how travellers approach wellbeing. Increasingly, sleep has become a focus within the growing field of sleep tourism, as travellers search for ways to recover from demanding schedules and frequent long-haul flights. For many urban professionals and frequent flyers, sleep loss remains a persistent challenge, often affecting concentration, mood, and overall health.
SleepHub® approaches the problem from a scientific perspective. Rather than masking environmental noise, the system uses gentle low-frequency sound pulses designed to guide the brain toward slow-wave sleep, the stage associated with physical recovery and memory consolidation. These sound patterns work in rhythm with the brain’s natural sleep cycles, helping the body settle into deeper rest.
The technology is the result of more than a decade of research by Cambridge Sleep Sciences. Studies have shown improvements in sleep onset time, reduced night-time awakenings, and more consistent sleep patterns. Guests may also notice greater morning alertness after using the system regularly during their stay.
Unlike conventional white-noise machines, SleepHub® relies on psychoacoustic sound technology that interacts directly with the brain’s neurological responses. The effect remains subtle. There are no intrusive sounds or disruptions, only a carefully calibrated audio environment designed to support calm and restorative sleep.
Introducing SleepHub® across the entire property also strengthens the hotel’s broader wellness philosophy. COMO Metropolitan Singapore is closely connected to COMO Shambhala, the brand’s long-standing health concept that integrates movement, nutrition, and therapeutic treatments. With nearly three decades of experience in integrative wellbeing, COMO Shambhala programmes span yoga, Pilates, fitness training, and carefully designed cuisine.
