The Ogoh-Ogoh is one example, an effigy carried through the streets as a symbol of chasing away negative energy. Local artists from a village in Ungasan crafted the resort’s two-headed behemoth, inspired by the folk tale of Gajah Mada Bhutakala. Following a Mecaru purification ceremony at Trowulan as well as Kecak, Tedung, and Rangda dance performances, the bespoke Ogoh-Ogoh will be ceremonially paraded, making for an evening replete with local culture.
Come Nyepi Day on the 19th, guests are encouraged to fully unwind.
