Padma Run Bali Successfully United Runners for A Cause

The first-ever Padma Run Bali brought over 740 runners together in the lush highlands of Payangan, bringing people together for a good cause.

The scenic highlands of Payangan were alive with energy on Sunday, 4 May 2025, as more than 740 enthusiastic runners took part in the inaugural Padma Run Bali 2025. Organised by Padma Resort Ubud and Padma Resort Legian, the event carried the heartfelt message of #LaceUpForChange. Every step taken contributed to a greater cause, with all proceeds dedicated to improving schools and educational facilities in Payangan village.

The run featured three categories, 5K, 10K, and the Kids Dash, welcoming runners of all levels and ages. Participants came not only from across Bali, but also from over 70 cities including Jakarta, Pangkal Pinang and Jayapura, as well as nine international destinations including South Africa to the United States.

What made Padma Run Bali truly special was its seamless blend of sport and culture. Balinese traditions were thoughtfully infused throughout the race experience, beginning with a vibrant opening ceremony featuring the iconic Tari Barong and Kera dance. Along the race route, runners were delighted by performances from traditional Joged dancers at the first kilometre and a mystical encounter with Hanooman at kilometre seven, an unforgettable nod to the island’s rich mythology and artistic heritage.

Back at the Race Village, the atmosphere remained electric. A DJ and local band kept spirits high, while the prize-giving ceremony, led by the Vice President of BCA Card Centre Bali, Eka Putu Ananta, keep the crowd excited. A lively door prize draw capped off the festivities.

The success of Padma Run Bali 2025 was made possible by the combined support of the runners, volunteers and sponsors. It showed the powerful impact of how events like this is not about to run, but to bring people together and make meaningful change.
