The family-owned luxury resort nestled in Ubud’s serene Valley of the Kings, celebrates its 20th anniversary in September with a series of meaningful events honouring two decades of heartfelt hospitality, exceptional service, and lasting partnerships.
Inspired by its regal surroundings, the name Viceroy symbolises leadership and majesty. Since opening in 2005, the resort has embodied a vision of timeless luxury infused with Balinese spirit, offering guests a sanctuary that beautifully blends elegance, culture, and genuine warmth.
The anniversary celebrations began with community initiatives and staff events, including a blood donation drive and a special team outing to honour the people who have shaped the resort’s success. Impressively, 29 employees have been with Viceroy since its opening, while another 86 have served for more than a decade.
A highlight of the festivities was the elegant Gala Dinner at Apéritif Restaurant, attended by 120 distinguished guests, including long-time partners, media, and members of Ubud’s royal family. The evening opened with a traditional dance performance beside the resort’s infinity pool, followed by a four-course degustation menu and heartfelt speeches from owners Anthony and Amanda Syrowatka.
Viceroy Bali also used this milestone to give back, partnering with the Bali Children’s Project to support education for underprivileged children. Guests were invited to contribute to the cause during the evening.
Celebrations continued at Pinstripe Bar with live music and crafted cocktails, followed by a Team Awarding Ceremony recognising staff dedication. The month will conclude with a charity visit to a local orphanage, reaffirming the resort’s deep community ties.
