Bali Island School (BIS), the oldest International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in Bali, concludes the academic year on a high note with impressive IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) results and begins the new school year with fresh leadership.
The graduating Class of 2025 achieved a 100 percent pass rate in the IBDP, with an average score of 33.50, significantly higher than the global average of 30.58. Notably, one BIS student earned an outstanding 43 points. Furthermore, 27 percent of graduates received the Bilingual Diploma, demonstrating their commitment to multilingualism and international-mindedness.
“We are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements,” said Jennifer Jenson, BIS Diploma Programme Coordinator. “Their results reflect their hard work and the strength of the IB curriculum at BIS. These students are now prepared to thrive in the next chapter of their academic journey.”
As the school celebrates this academic success, it also welcomes a new Interim Head of School, Richard Reilly. With over two decades of experience in international education, Richard brings a wealth of leadership to BIS. He has previously worked at schools in Madagascar, Hong Kong, the Philippines and Scotland, and holds advanced degrees in Physics, Education and Leadership.
“I’m thrilled to join the BIS community,” said Richard. “The IB curriculum not only fosters academic excellence but also promotes resilience and global awareness. I look forward to supporting our students as they develop into lifelong learners and responsible global citizens.”
Richard and his wife, Angela, are excited to embrace life in Bali, appreciating its nature, culture and community. Under his leadership, BIS aims to continue its mission of empowering globally minded learners and becoming the school of choice for international families in Bali and beyond.
