Q: How would you describe your responsibilities?
A: I oversee the hotel’s marketing, communications, partnerships, and brand presence. My role is to shape how people experience and perceive the hotel through storytelling, collaborations, events, and meaningful engagement. It’s also about connecting different teams and ideas, whether I’m discussing a new partnership, supporting an event, or developing a campaign. Ultimately, my focus is on finding creative ways to bring people through our doors while staying true to the personality of 25hours Hotels.
Q: What does a typical day look like?
A: There’s rarely a typical day. Most mornings begin with a review of ongoing campaigns, upcoming events, and partnership opportunities. From there, every day takes a different direction. Some are filled with meetings, while others focus on planning, writing, or problem-solving. One week, I may be hosting international media in Jakarta, and the next, I’m exchanging ideas with colleagues across the global 25hours network. That constant variety is what makes hospitality so exciting.
Q: What’s the toughest part of your job?
A: The biggest challenge is balancing expectations from multiple directions. Marketing sits at the intersection of many departments, so you’re constantly aligning business goals, operational realities, guest expectations, and creative ambitions. Sometimes a great idea arrives at the wrong time, while resources limit other opportunities. The key is finding solutions that work for everyone while keeping sight of the bigger picture and the brand’s long-term vision.
Q: Who has influenced you the most?
A: Rather than one individual, I’ve been shaped by the people I’ve met throughout my hospitality career. Working with colleagues, partners, creatives, and media from different cultures has broadened my perspective on hospitality and human connection.
Q: If you hadn’t become a marketing assistant director, what career path would you have chosen?
A: Probably something connected to travel. I’ve always been fascinated by places, cultures, and the stories behind them. Looking back, I think I would have found my way into hospitality in some form because it’s an industry built around experiences and connection.
Q: What makes your property different from others?
A: Jakarta is home to many excellent hotels, so differentiation goes beyond facilities. What sets 25hours Hotel Jakarta The Oddbird apart is our confidence in being ourselves. We embrace individuality, creativity, and curiosity rather than following a traditional hospitality formula. Through our design, dining concepts, partnerships, and community, we create experiences that feel Jakarta distinctly while reflecting the spirit of 25hours Hotels. More than a place to stay, we are a gathering space where travellers, locals, and creatives connect, creating memories that last long after checkout.
