Gaia Music Festival is back for its fifth edition, bringing artists from different generations and genres together in Bandung this August. With the theme Music For All, this year’s festival expands its vision beyond performances, creating a space where music connects communities, families and creative voices.
The feeling of hospitality that is associated with a festival comes to mind even before the concert commences. This was the atmosphere at Gaia Music Festival’s reveal of their 2026 edition in Jakarta that sets the scene for yet another weekend where live music and nature will unite.
Unveiled at a press conference held at Habitate Jakarta on 7 July, Gaia Music Festival 2026 is scheduled to take place on 14-15 August 2026 at The Gaia Hotel Bandung. Making a comeback for the fifth time, the festival comes with the theme “Music For All”, representing the goal of bringing together people through music despite differences in genre, age and other things.
That spirit is reflected in a line-up that moves comfortably across genres. Audiences can expect performances from RAN, Gigi Jazz Project, Teddy Adhitya, Adikara, Littlefingers, Keubitbit, Love Is, alongside a special collaboration between Karimata and Tiara Effendy. Bass G featuring Song Brothers will also perform across both days at the Endless Stage, an alternative performance area designed for a more relaxed setting where audiences can experience live music against the natural backdrop of The Gaia Hotel Bandung.
The programme, rather than emphasizing one particular genre, is structured in such a way that allows for discoveries. Popular music, rock, jazz, as well as indie music are presented next to each other, thus providing festival-goers with an opportunity to switch from their well-loved music to something new during the weekend.
According to Rony Triawan, who was the Chairman at the announcement of the festival, Music For All symbolizes the progress of the festival into being a platform for audiences, performers and creative communities alike. The goal is not only to provide live music but to create conditions for connections via music.
This idea resonates with Bagas Indyatmono, Founder of Jazz Gunung Indonesia, who sees Gaia Music Festival as an exceptional experience among other festivals. This festival creates an atmosphere of connection between artists and audience, allowing for more personal and open performances.
The festival is not limited to the city of Bandung. In connection with the Road to Gaia Music Festival 2026, the festival organisers have launched an additional element of the festival programme called GMF Takeover at Beebop Bar & Kitchen in Jakarta. This initiative involves organising small jam sessions involving jazz communities from the area, festival organisers, and participating musicians with the help of Bass G.
In addition to the performances, Gaia Music Festival further reinforces its mission. According to the organisers, the two-day festival will attract more than 1,000 visitors and will make a positive contribution both to the live music scene of Bandung and to its tourism industry. Furthermore, the festival site has been developed taking into account the issue of accessibility.
