The third annual Shoes to School project, organised by the Bali & Lombok Marriott Business Council, has officially reached its handover milestone for child welfare across the region. Hosted at Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa on Monday, 5 October 2026, the official gathering brought together dedicated hotel associates, provincial government officials, and welfare foundation leaders to celebrate the widespread distribution of essential footwear.
Driven by Marriott International’s Serve360 initiative under its Nurture and Empower pillars, the annual project focuses on removing everyday physical obstacles to education. Logistics for this year’s distribution spanned nine regencies in Bali, three primary schools in Lombok, and 79 partner foundations, ensuring every pair reached children directly. Key attendees at the gathering included representatives from the Department of Social Services for Women Empowerment and Child Protection of Bali Province, alongside leaders from several regional child welfare organisations.
“Year after year, we have witnessed the positive impact of this initiative on the children we serve,” said Boy Rio Sitinjak, Secretary of LKSA Bukit Kehidupan Ungasan, noting how steady corporate backing creates meaningful educational opportunities for local youth.
