A Delightful Collaboration

VEA Restaurant & Lounge in Hong Kong debuts a very special Chinese Umami Brunch with three-Michelin starred Forum Restaurant.

Following the original creation of the Chinese x French culinary philosophy, inspired by the stunning trilogy of abalone pithivier, fish maw and sea cucumber, VEA Restaurant & Lounge is debuting a major annual event with Tribute to the Roots series. This special collaboration will invite one master chef each year to create dishes to strengthen Hong Kong as a serious global culinary destination. The first edition in the series is Chinese Umami, which will be headlined by three-Michelin starred Forum Restaurant on 18 and 19 July 2020.

Master Chef Yeung Koon-Yat & Chef Adam Wong

Representing Forum Restaurant, Executive Chef Adam Wong is the most recent protégé of internationally acclaimed Master Chef Yeung Koon-Yat, known as The King of Abalone. Chef Adam will be joined by Chef Vicky Cheng, chef and co-owner of VEA, and together they will celebrate the harmonious blend of modern Chinese and French ideologies, along with classic Chinese culinary wisdom and heritage.

The Chinese Umami Brunch is the first of its kind at VEA, channelling a more relaxed vibe during the daytime at a venue known for its fine-dining setting for dinner. The menu will feature collaborative dishes to wow the palates of even the most discerning gourmands. Highly anticipated, in addition to premium creative dim sums from both restaurants, is the Dried 30-Head Abalone with Truffle Cheese Sandwich shared from Chef Adam’s personal private collection. Cocktail pairing is also available by award-winning Executive Mixologist Antonio Lai, or Chinese wine pairing by Sommelier Alex Yim for the complete experience.
