A One-derful Anniversary of 25hours Hotel The Oddbird Jakarta

A lively spirit can transform a building into a place people return to, not just for rest, but for the stories that grow within it. That spirit has shaped the first year of 25hours Hotel The Oddbird Jakarta, a hotel that planted its roots in Sudirman Central Business District on 22 November 2024 and quickly became a home for ideas, culture, and play. What began as a fresh addition to Jakarta’s hospitality scene has evolved into a vibrant hub that reflects the city’s pace and personality.

The hotel’s defining energy emerged early, marked by its Grand Opening in April 2025. The Jakarta Ballroom opened with the Monocle Chief Conference, setting a thoughtful tone before the celebration spilt into every corner of the property. A block party filled the hotel with movement and music, spreading from the poolside during sunset sessions to live DJ sets across the venue. The night reached its peak with performances by Dipha Barus and Afgan, giving guests a clear sense of what Oddbird represents: a place that embraces surprises and celebrates individuality.

That same momentum carried the hotel through its first year. Exhibitions featuring artists Rato, Muklay, and Lala Bohang brought visual stories into public spaces, while COPA and Cabana shaped culinary memories for guests seeking something distinct. New wellness and music programmes have been added to offer balance, providing ways to reset in a city that rarely slows down. At every turn, the hotel encouraged guests to create, connect, and enjoy Jakarta through a fresh lens.

The year also came with meaningful initiatives. Collaborations with LovePink raised awareness for breast cancer through the creation of limited-edition desserts and mugs. At the same time, a no-housekeeping option allowed guests to contribute directly to river clean-up efforts with the Plastic Fischer Foundation. Movement and wellbeing sessions with Volvo and ON Cloud added another layer of community spirit, demonstrating that creativity and impact can coexist.

Recognition soon followed. Oddbird received the Best New Hotel award from Tatler Indonesia and secured nominations for the DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Awards 2026 and AHEAD Asia 2025. These milestones reinforced what the hotel had already shown: that food, art, music, community, and play can be the foundation of a meaningful hospitality experience.

As the anniversary approached, the hotel launched Road to The Odd Fair, a series designed to share its playful character with a broader audience. Morning runs, bar takeovers, street art, wellness sessions, Latin grilled feasts, jazz nights, brunch celebrations, and a special staycation offer filled the calendar leading up to the main event. Each activity captured a different side of Oddbird, reflecting its commitment to movement, creativity, and collaboration.

The anniversary weekend, The Odd Fair, brought the entire year together. Culinary highlights, artistic expressions, live performances, and unexpected moments all appeared within the same celebration, mirroring the colourful experiences that shaped Oddbird’s first twelve months. It was a fitting reflection of the hotel’s vision, one year, one story, and countless memories that point toward many one-derful years ahead.
