This Chinese New Year welcome the Metal Ox in style at Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta with decadent traditional feasts, festive hampers and a special weekend staycation package.

Renowned for its new year traditions, once again the hotel will open the celebrations with a live guzheng, or Chinese zither, performance in the hotel lobby on 11 February starting at 6.30pm and continuing through the evening to accompany the delectable dining.

Helming the culturally rich, award-winning Cantonese restaurant Li Feng is Executive Chinese Chef Tan Kwang Aik, supported by 2-Michelin star Chef Fei from Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou, who will prepare sumptuous set menus to welcome an auspicious and prosperous new year with family and loved ones. Diners will be pampered with traditional delicacies, including the hotel’s famed deep-fried golden swan dumpling with roast duck Portuguese style, slow cooked abalone and hi piao with spinach, and double boiled fish maw soup with dry scallop.

A choice of menus is available for dinner on 11 February, comprising an outstanding 11-course indulgence at Li Feng, a vegetarian set menu at both Li Feng and Lyon, an exquisite eight-course feast at Lyon, and an extensive Chinese New Year buffet at Cinnamon. Li Feng’s 11-course set menu is also available for lunch and dinner from 12 to 14 February. Reservations at least 24 hours in advance are essential as restaurant capacity has been reduced to 50 percent to comply with government regulations on social distancing.
