BII-Maybank annual road race event in Bali was held on Sunday, 30th August 2015. Bali Marathon, which combines marathon sports with Bali’s rich culture, local friendliness and breathtaking scenery has always been a major attraction for participants, both domestic and international. A total of 1,214 participants entered the Full Marathon. The 21-kilometer Half Marathon was the most popular race this year, with 2,051 runners. A total of 1,757 runners took part in the 10-kilometer category, which also notably had 40 disabled contestants in wheelchairs take part.
More than 5,000 contestants from 37 countries participated in Bali Marathon 2015 at Bali Safari & Marine Park, Gianyar, which divided into four categories: full marathon (42K), half marathon (21K), 10K and children’s sprint. Participants who finished the full marathon within the qualifying time will have the chance to run in the Boston International Marathon in April 2016. Kenya’s runners dominated the podium for the men’s and women’s category.
