Blending compassion with creativity, 25hours Hotel Jakarta The Oddbird together with COPA and the Association Ibero-American in Jakarta to host a special cooking class for children from Pondok Taruna Orphanage. The heartwarming initiative transformed the kitchen into a space filled with new possibilities.
The kitchen at 25hours Hotel Jakarta The Oddbird recently came alive with laughter and the scent of freshly prepared food. On Saturday, the hotel and its restaurant, COPA, hosted a heartfelt cooking class for 20 children from Pondok Taruna Orphanage in collaboration with the Association Ibero-American in Jakarta (AIA). Pondok Taruna Orphanage was founded in 1993 by Loudy and Liu Posumah, and it provides a nurturing home, education and guidance for more than a hundred children in Jakarta, showing that kindness remains one of the most powerful ways to shape the future.
The initiative formed part of the hotel’s CSR programme, created to inspire underprivileged children by offering them a chance to learn through real experiences. Inside COPA’s vibrant kitchen, the children explored the joy of cooking while learning the importance of teamwork and creativity. Guided by the hotel’s chefs and culinary team, they discovered how passion and collaboration can transform a simple recipe into something extraordinary.
“This collaboration is very close to our hearts,” said Jesper Soerensen, General Manager of 25hours Hotel Jakarta The Oddbird. “Together with AIA and Pondok Taruna, we wanted to create a space where children could dream freely and explore new possibilities for their future. We aimed to build confidence, curiosity and memories that stay with them.”
Beyond the kitchen, the event reflected a shared commitment to compassion and community. Through this collaboration, 25hours Hotel Jakarta The Oddbird, COPA and AIA opened doors to new opportunities for children who deserve greater access to learning and growth.
