House of Dior Shinsaibashi in Osaka celebrates Dior’s connection with Japan through a striking new flagship that blends fashion, art, and gastronomy.
Dior has unveiled the new House of Dior Shinsaibashi in Osaka, celebrating the longstanding relationship between the French maison and Japan. Located in the city’s vibrant Shinsaibashi district, the four-storey flagship combines fashion, art, gastronomy, and architecture within a single destination dedicated to Dior’s heritage and craftsmanship.
The building’s striking façade was designed by Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto, inspired by the movement of draped couture fabrics and layered textiles often seen in Christian Dior’s creations. By day, natural light creates shifting shadows across the exterior, while the illuminated structure transforms dramatically at night. Inside, architect Peter Marino designed the interiors across 1,475 square metres, featuring soft neutral tones, Versailles-inspired parquet flooring, and contemporary artworks throughout the space.
Each floor offers a different Dior universe. The ground floor houses women’s accessories, leather goods, footwear, jewellery, and fragrances from La Collection Privée, complemented by a lush vertical garden. The second floor presents Jonathan Anderson’s ready-to-wear collections alongside exclusive limited-edition pieces, while the third floor is dedicated to Dior Men collections in a sleek contemporary setting.
The top floor features the Monsieur Dior restaurant led by celebrated chef Anne-Sophie Pic. The menu blends French haute cuisine with Japanese ingredients, creating a refined dining experience inspired by Dior’s iconic motifs and craftsmanship.
Art also plays a major role throughout the flagship, with works by artists including Christian Bérard, Vik Muniz, Jennifer Steinkamp, and Azuma Makoto displayed across the space. Special installations, ikebana-inspired floral arrangements, and designer furniture pieces further reinforce the dialogue between French elegance and Japanese artistry.
To mark the launch, Dior also introduced exclusive products available only at House of Dior Shinsaibashi. Highlights include a sky-blue Lady Dior bag, distressed denim leather goods, Dior Oblique ready-to-wear pieces, embroidered Saltwind sneakers, and tailored menswear accented with floral details and the House’s signature grey tones.
