Stella Rizki Complex Asst. Director of Marketing Communications at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan & JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta

 Stella Rizki

Q: How would you describe your responsibilities?

A: My role is like conducting an orchestra, balancing vision and execution while switching gears between two luxury hotels. It’s about staying grounded amid constant movement, guiding a multidisciplinary team and ensuring every touchpoint reflects our brand’s story.

Q: What makes your properties different from others?

A: At The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan, our fifth floor feels At The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan, the fifth floor offers a serene setting reminiscent of Bali. Private villas, lush greenery and an Olympic-sized pool with breezy gazebos. We’re among Jakarta’s first five-star hotels to offer an indoor golf simulator, just steps from our lively Ozone Bar. At the JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta, the culinary experience stands out. It is a home to a multicultural kitchen, with Indian, Japanese, Cantonese and Indonesian chefs creating global flavours under one roof.

Q: What’s the toughest part of your job?

A: Balancing visibility with introspection can be a challenge. Being an ambivert in a PR-driven world means navigating expectations with authenticity. Overseeing everything from marketing to partnerships across two hotels adds complexity. While juggling so many moving parts, staying present for both teams requires patience, perspective and quiet resilience behind the scenes.

Q: What is the most important trait to have in your work?

A: The most vital quality is balancing empathy with strategy. You’re constantly shifting between voices: guests, media, influencers and internal teams while staying aligned to a brand vision. Success comes from reading the room, staying human and moving things forward purposefully.

Q: What do you find most satisfying about your work?

A: The connections. Whether formal partnerships or spontaneous conversations, I find meaning in relationships that grow beyond a single moment. I’m also grateful for the cultural diversity in our team. It creates a working environment filled with mutual respect, creativity and warmth. That synergy makes even the busiest days rewarding.

Q: What does your day off look like?

A: Time off is my reset button. Sometimes I’m out catching up with friends over good food or exploring a new café. Other weekends, I lean into stillness by picking up new creative hobbies, going to the gym and making time for family. That balance between social and quiet time helps me return to work with clarity and energy.
