Celebrating the colonial history of its building, The Hermitage, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Jakarta proudly introduces 1928, a new restaurant that is driven by the heritage building concept. Occupying the area that was previously L’Avenue Restaurant, 1928 will serve an interesting menu that focuses on colonial, Peranakan, and Indonesian or pan-Asian cuisine.

Offering a fresh, modern interpretation of colonial-era delicacies, every meal in 1928 is made with the freshest local ingredients. Ferdian Tobing, Executive Chef at The Hermitage, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel Jakarta has created a series of delectable menus for diners to sample. “The menu is designed to evoke memories of the old times without losing the modern touch,” explains Chef Tobing. The menu features signature dishes such as grilled bone marrow, Bruine Bonen Soep, macaroni schotel, beef bitterballen, pindang bandeng, Dutch steak, klappertaart and poffertjes.

In addition to the scrumptious à la carte menu, the new restaurant is offering a special Rijstaffel Package filled with signature dishes for a minimum of four people. Furthermore, weekend indulgences can be found at ‘1928 Sunday Brunch’. Serving an array of colonial-inspired dishes, diners are spoiled with choices ranging from appetisers, main courses and desserts. A special drink trolley is also available during brunch with a bartender roaming the restaurant concocting your favourite mocktails.
