W Bali – Seminyak introduces Food For Thought, a social activity created by Marriott Bonvoy as part of its Good Travel programme.
Against the backdrop of the global pandemic, and with travellers increasingly aspiring to make a positive impact on the communities they visit locally and abroad, W Bali – Seminyak introduces Food for Thought as part of Good Travel with Marriott Bonvoy. W Bali – Seminyak joins 14 other Marriott International properties across Asia Pacific as part of the programme’s pilot launch. The programme offers meaningful travel across Asia Pacific, aiming to create opportunities for guests to forge first-hand connections with local communities and the environment during their stay, promoting both cultural understanding and positive change.
Partnering with Scholars of Sustenance (S.O.S), W Bali – Seminyak is offering one-of-a-kind experiences for guests by distributing surplus food to unprivileged children and people in need across Bali, whilst encouraging a cleaner and greener environment.
The experience is available to guests from February and runs once every two weeks on Tuesdays. Registered guests will see the food process at S.O.S kitchen and participate in food distribution. The excess hotel food, such as meat, fruit, vegetables and bread, is packed in appropriate food-grade containers and delivered to S.O.S kitchen. On arrival, in-house food hygienists inspect the food and separate it into edible and inedible food, then optimizing the produce and preparing nutritional meals for the children.
