Unrivalled Elegance in the Heart of London

Hotel Café Royal showcases true British elegance through its celebrated legacy in excellent hospitality and dining.

First opening in 1865, Café Royal quickly became the go-to place for famed patrons, from royalty and celebrities to other renowned luminaries. An iconic London landmark for over a century, the restaurant transformed itself into a luxury hotel, Hotel Café Royal, and remains a favourite among locals and global travellers.

Sitting in the heart of London, with the city’s most famous attractions nearby, the Grade II-listed property has undergone a massive three-year long restoration and redevelopment to create an even more comfortable sanctuary for its guests. Paying homage to the building’s history, every detail has been carefully restored by historic building architects Donald Insall Associates, and recently enhanced by Piero Lissoni. Meanwhile, the 160 spacious guestrooms, including 49 suites and seven signature suites, have been curated in a contemporary yet refined style by David Chipperfield Architects.

Inside each room, guests are treated to some of the finest luxury available. Designed to feel like luxurious private apartments, the spacious guestrooms and suites are adorned with meticulous detail, including rustic Portland stone in the Deluxe guestrooms and English oak panels in the Superior guestrooms. Both offer beautiful bathrooms created in the hotel’s sleek, signature Carrara marble.

Guests opting to reminisce about the property’s glorious past can choose to stay in one of the seven signature suites. The Club Suite, Tudor Suite, Celestine Suite, Empire Suite, Dome Penthouse, Presidential Suite and Royal Suite offer the ultimate guest experience with a unique aesthetic and character inspired by the stunning original features. For example, the Tudor Suite is fitted with an original Tudor fireplace as the grand centrepiece of the beautiful living room, while the Royal Suite is adorned with details including rustic Portland Stone to mirror the Regent Street façade.

All guestrooms and suites also feature luxurious Frette bed linen, a fully stocked butler’s pantry and British bathroom amenities from Floris. Butler service and guest relations are readily available to make a seamless stay, both inside the hotel and around London.

Continuing its legacy of presenting great fare, Hotel Café Royal takes its guests on a special culinary journey. At the heart of the hotel lies Laurent at Café Royal, which offers a menu centred around the parilla grill and a wide choice of sushi, ranging from the traditional to the innovative. Led by Executive Chef Laurent Tourondel, the restaurant exudes a relaxed approach to casual fine dining. For guests staying over the weekend, the New York Sunday Brunch is something not to be missed. Using the chef’s experience of owning and operating successful restaurants in the United States, like Brasserie Ruhlmann at the Rockefeller Center, the brunch gives Londoners the chance to savour the taste of the Big Apple. Enjoy popular brunch classics, as well as new must-try dishes including truffle popovers benedict, crispy salt beef steamed bun and scrambled eggs cacio & pepe, served alongside bottomless Bloody Marys and Veuve Clicquot Champagne.

For something sweet and fun, head over to Cakes & Bubbles. Born from mastermind award-winning chef Albert Adrià, savour incredible desserts at his first ever bricks-and-mortar store outside Spain. Guests will be tempted by a fine selection of signature desserts, such as The Cheese Cake, the lightest carrot cake and more. While at Ziggy’s, inspired by one of Café Royal’s most renowned past patrons, David Bowie, enjoy a superbly mixed cocktail while relaxing, or before retreating to your room to rest.

Completing the experience for staying guests, the hotel offers a world-class wellness centre, Akasha Holistic Wellbeing, located underneath the hustle and bustle of Regent Street. This calm sanctuary features a state-of-the-art-gym, large lap pool, Watsu pool, sauna and private Hammam/steam room, inviting visitors to embark on a guided journey to promote health, happiness and fulfilment. With nine private treatment rooms, enjoy a range of signature treatments from luxury skincare brands Valmont and Aromatherapy Associates, as well as a wellness programme of regular visiting expert therapists, trainers and practitioners.
