In a thrilling move that promises to redefine the gastronomic experience at one of Bali’s premier destinations, W Bali – Seminyak has announced the appointment of Jose Garcia Torrazza as its new Director of Beverage and Food. With a strong background in international hospitality, including a post-graduate diploma from Les Roches Bluche, and a reputation for creative culinary arts, Torrazza joins W Bali – Seminyak to elevate the already excellent dining options.
Torrazza brings a plethora of expertise from his work at well-known establishments worldwide. Before relocating to the stunning Island of the Gods, Torrazza had an outstanding career that included positions at W Suzhou, W Koh Samui, and Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, where he was instrumental in the opening and developing numerous well-known venues.
W Bali – Seminyak, already celebrated for its avant-garde approach to hospitality, anticipates that Torrazza’s leadership will elevate the dining experience to new heights. The fusion of his international expertise with Bali’s rich culinary heritage is poised to create a culinary haven that will showcase Bali’s cultural influences with an international twist, emphasising atmosphere and taste.
Throughout his tenure, the Panama-born leader has garnered multiple awards, including the prestigious Hotel Chinese Restaurant of the Year and Best New Restaurant of the Year in 2018, and was instrumental in achieving the Rooftop of the Year 2022 B.A.D Award in Bangkok and setting a Guinness World Record for the largest Negroni cocktail in 2022 for Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok.
Torrazza’s passion extends beyond culinary, as he is known to love Harley-Davidson motorcycles and is a part of the H.O.G group in every country he lives in. When he is not working, you can easily find him roaming the island that he now calls home.
