Mangkuluhur ARTOTEL Suites presents Living Lines, a contemporary art exhibition in collaboration with J+ Art Awards and ARTOTEL Group. The exhibition, which opens on Friday, 26 September 2025 at ARTSPACE, Mangkuluhur ARTOTEL Suites, will run until 19 November 2025 and showcases artists selected from the J+ 2025 Open Call.
Living Lines features five Indonesian artists, each with distinct narratives and visual approaches: Husin’s Bunga Kehidupan highlights nature as a source of life; Beauty Clarabelle presents The Prapatan and A Bloom of Tranquility, exploring human connection and spaces of peace; Geed Saputra’s Antara Maju atau Mundur examines the tension between modernity and Balinese spirituality through the ‘young artist’ style of Penestanan; Sumastania Widyandari contributes The Errands (Daytime & Nighttime), reflecting on self-awareness and environmental relationships; meanwhile, Yelmi Nanda Resfi’s Maelo Jalur celebrates West Sumatra’s collective boat-making tradition as a symbol of community and cooperation.
The J+ Art Awards 2025 attracted nearly 500 submissions from 42 countries. The selection was curated by an international panel consisting of Mona Liem as Founder of J+Art Awards, Tobias Brunner, a visual artist and multidisciplinary designer from Zurich, Abby Hermosilla, curator at MoMA New York and Yessiow, founder of Tangi Street Art Festivals Bali, featured in Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2024.
Faisal Tranggono, General Manager of Mangkuluhur ARTOTEL Suites explained the idea and goal of the art collaboration with J+ Art Awards.
“This exhibition is not merely a celebration of art, but a manifestation of collaboration, diversity, and bold expression. We are proud to provide a space for young and talented Indonesian artists to share their work with the world,” said Faisal
Following its Jakarta showing, Living Lines will travel to ARTOTEL Bianti Yogyakarta in November 2025, continuing the collaboration between ARTOTEL Group and J+ Art Awards.
