Lark Whisky, Australia’s leading luxury single malt, hosted a three-day series of events in Jakarta to showcase its distinctive whisky-making tradition and engage with Indonesia’s expanding whisky community. The activities were led by Randall Tan, Lark’s new Asia Brand Ambassador, marking his first official visit to the country.
Based in Singapore, Randall is well known across Asia’s whisky circles for his approachable demeanour and deep industry expertise. His Jakarta visit began on 22 September 2025 with a whisky-tasting session at Juntos Jakarta, where guests discovered the brand’s award-winning range and learned about its Tasmanian heritage.
The following evening, Randall hosted a private tasting at Highlander Inn for a select group of whisky connoisseurs. The event delved into Lark’s identity, from its pure Tasmanian ingredients to its meticulous maturation process. Randall’s engaging storytelling and insightful commentary made the evening both educational and enjoyable.
The visit concluded on 24 September with Lark’s participation in the Americano Padel Tournament at Homeground Premier in the Kedoya area. The tournament blended light-hearted competition with the relaxed enjoyment of Lark Whisky highballs and canapés. The spirited matches ended with Bobby and Daniel emerging as champions, followed by Harry and Kris as runners-up.
Founded in 1992 by Bill and Lyn Lark, Lark Distillery is recognised as Australia’s first modern single malt producer and a key pioneer in the country’s whisky revival. Using Tasmanian barley, peat and pure mountain water, its whiskies are matured in hand-selected casks to create a distinctive flavour profile. Three of its celebrated expressions: Classic Cask, Tasmanian Peated and Chinotto Cask, are now available in Indonesia, offering a taste of Tasmania’s rich whisky heritage to discerning drinkers.
