Nyepi is Bali’s ultimate day of deception, a sacred silence intended to mask the island from passing spirits. In COMO Uma Canggu, this tradition is elevated into a transformative retreat, offering a yoga practice that translates the island’s external quietude into deep, internal alignment.
Bridging the gap between ancient folklore and modern wellbeing, COMO Uma Canggu invites guests to translate this external silence into internal alignment. From 18–20 March 2026, the resort hosts a masterfully designed yoga practice, allowing travelers to sync their personal rhythm with the island’s unique energy during its most sacred window.
Beginning on the eve of Nyepi, Pengerupukan Day unfolds with vibrant symbolism as guests can witness this meaningful ritual through a dedicated Ogoh-Ogoh parade at the COMO Uma Canggu lobby. Communities all-over the island present handcrafted effigies to cleanse of all negative forces and disruptive energies, marking a transition from movement into stillness.
As Nyepi begins on 19 March, the resort presents a carefully curated retreat centred on mindful movement and breath. All sessions are led by Ketut Ariani, a Bali-based instructor specialising in Hatha and Vinyasa, known for her attentive and inclusive teaching approach. Sunrise Yoga welcomes the day with gentle grounding practice, while Kids’ Yoga introduces younger guests to calm awareness through simple poses and breathing.
A guided Pranayama session concludes the day, cultivating inner clarity through conscious breath. On 20 March, a structured Ashtanga Yoga practice guides guests into renewed rhythm. Nyepi at COMO Uma Canggu offers not simply retreat, but alignment with the island’s spiritual cadence and the renewal of the New Year with intention.
