ROW FOR R.O.L.E. Sets Sail from Hyatt Regency Bali to Grand Hyatt Bali

After four splashy editions, ROW FOR R.O.L.E. returns for its fifth with its hallmark canoe race from Hyatt Regency Bali in Sanur to Grand Hyatt Bali in Nusa Dua, raising funds for marginalised women through R.O.L.E. Foundation’s Bali WISE.

For many, sports can be a way to refresh the body and mind, combining physical fitness and social levity. R.O.L.E. Foundation is taking this further with an added layer to refresh the soul: rowing for charity. The Bali-based NGO is reviving its annual ROW FOR R.O.L.E. programme for the fifth edition on 25 April 2026, inviting guests on a canoeing race across the island’s oceans while raising funds for Bali WISE.

Hyatt to Hyatt Canoe Race: ROW FOR R.O.L.E 5 will once again take paddlers from Hyatt Regency Bali’s beach in Sanur, coasting through a 13km stretch of rocking waves and deep blue waters to the shores of Grand Hyatt Bali in Nusa Dua. Multiple race categories ensure individuals of any skill level are welcome entrants. Seasoned canoers can row solo, while novices have the option to pair up as doubles. Paddleboarders looking for a challenge are also welcome on stand-up boards.

Proceeds of this event benefit Bali WISE, one of R.O.L.E. Foundation’s two major platforms. Founded in 2007, the centre provides a space for marginalised and impoverished women from across Indonesia to garner education and hone their skills, empowering them to enter the Balinese tourism workforce with self-reliance. These initiatives are part of continued efforts in breaking the nation’s poverty cycle and developing more sustainable local communities.

Beyond the canoeing race, more funds will be raised through a silent auction. Participants are invited to bid on lifestyle experiences and offerings, including stays at luxury resorts, dining at the island’s highly distinguished venues, wellness and spa treatments, as well as curated activities and excursions. After raising more than IDR880 million (USD58,700) in 2025, this year’s event encourages guests to continue uplifting the Balinese and Indonesian communities through a fun yet meaningful way.
