Marriott Business Council Bali and Undisan Tourism Village join forces to offer travellers a deeper, more meaningful way to experience Bali while supporting local communities and cultural preservation.
Marriott Business Council Bali has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Undisan Tourism Village in Bangli Regency, marking a significant step towards promoting sustainable tourism and authentic cultural experiences on the island. The agreement, signed on 21 May 2026, creates a long-term partnership that will connect global travellers staying at Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of 27 hotels and resorts in Bali with one of the island’s most inspiring community-based tourism destinations.
The collaboration aims to introduce visitors to a side of Bali that extends beyond its famous beaches and luxury resorts. Through carefully curated programmes at Undisan Tourism Village, guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Balinese traditions, engage with local communities, and explore the island’s natural beauty in a responsible and meaningful way.
“At Marriott, we believe travel is most meaningful when it connects you to the things you’re truly passionate about wherever in the world you are,” said Sander Looijen, Area General Manager of Participating Marriott Bonvoy Hotels and Resorts in Bali. “Our collaboration with Undisan Tourism Village brings that belief to life by offering an experience deeply rooted in local culture and authenticity.”
Nestled in the heart of Bangli Regency, Undisan Tourism Village is recognised for embracing the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, which promotes harmony between people, nature and spirituality. Visitors can take part in programmes such as A Journey into Three Harmonies, offering insight into local customs, daily village life, and the surrounding landscape.
For Undisan Tourism Village, the partnership represents an opportunity to showcase its cultural heritage to a wider audience while creating sustainable economic benefits for residents. “This collaboration is a key moment for our community,” said I Putu Winastra, Pioneer of Undisan Tourism Village. “It allows us to share the true heart of Bali with travellers from around the world.”
Beyond guest experiences, Marriott Business Council Bali will support the village through knowledge-sharing sessions focused on tourism standards, guest experience and destination development. The initiative reflects Marriott International’s broader commitment to responsible tourism through its Serve 360 sustainability platform, helping create positive and lasting impact for the communities in which it operates.
